Factors influencing knowledge and practice of hygiene in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme areas of Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee

Introduction:  Improved hygiene is one of the most effective means of reducing disease occurrence. However, a complete understanding of the factors that contribute to such improvement are not clear. This study explored factors that facilitate and/or impede hygiene behavior in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) intervention areas using qualitative research techniques.

- Of the several setbacks suffered by the polio eradication initiative in Nigeria, vaccination rejection by Muslim clerics (imams) is perhaps the most profound.
- Anti-polio propaganda, misconceptions, and violence against vaccinators at the community level present huge challenges to polio eradication in Nigeria and globally.
- However, the intense opposition to polio vaccination is systematically being reversed by the active engagement of imams to promote uptake of polio vaccination in areas worst hit by the disease.

In Mozambique, as in many other countries, most of the medicines are dispensed with little or no written information. This means that the information is transmitted mostly orally, which can have serious consequences, not only regarding the quality of information they may receive (which vary substantially), but also regarding the information they will bring and keep home to recall or consult when they need. 

Student nurses' perceived challenges of nursing in India

Background: A profound nursing shortage exists in India. Increasingly nursing students in India are opting to migrate to practise nursing abroad upon graduation. Perceptions and attitudes about nursing are shaped during student experiences.
Purpose: The purpose in conducting this research was to illuminate student nurses' perceived challenges of nursing in India.
