Tobacco Industry Efforts to Counter the Perceived Threat of Islam (4) Cigarette advertising versus tobacco control

HIFA Quotation:

I have done a quick Google search and the data suggest that cigarette companies spend more than 600 times as much money on cigarette advertising and promotion, as compared with the total spending by countries on tobacco control.... For every 5,000 USD in tobacco tax revenue, countries spend about 1 USD for tobacco control... In collaboration with the New York Law School, HIFA has previously shown that 'governments have a legal obligation under international human rights law to ensure progressively that all citizens and health professionals have access to the healthcare knowledge they need to protect their health and the health of others'. Very few countries are meeeting their obligations with regard to tobacco control.
