Translating data, information, knowledge and evidence into policies and action is extremely important, otherwise what is the use of these resources if they don't contribute to improving health of people through policies and practices. Contextualisation and adaptation of information to fit the local needs is an integral part of knowledge translation. For this we trust local experts who need access to good quality information and the need the necessary skills to translate knowledge into policy and actions. For this purpose we have programmes like EVIPNet to help in that. Sharing of country experience and bringing this experience back for use at a global level is what HIFA015 is trying to do, as part of improving the different elements of the knowledge cycle.
